Burns Supper Weekend Kilted Pub Crawl
Dumfries has terrific historical pubs - we will visit several on our Kilted Pub Crawl.

We start with supper at Cavens Arms - a beautiful Victorian Style pub that has won “Pub of The Year” two years running. Great Food - Great selection of several Real Ales, Great Single Malt Scotch Whisky Selection and Great Service… the perfect place to start an evening….

Tam O’Shanter Pub- established 1630, a few real ales, a few malts, a great old pub.

Hole I’ The Wa’ Inn (pictured right) - established 1620, a big place with a lot of history, frequented by Robert Burns Himself. During our visit Robertson will tell you the great history behind the name of this pub.

The New Bazaar - an ex-Victorian Coaching House, several good real ales, almost 200 single malts - the best selection in town, a real fire, a cozy and friendly pub.

The Coach & Horses - probably established around 1590. Slate Floors, real fires, a few real ales, a good malt selection, sometimes live music on, reportedly a brothel when Robert Burns lived a few doors away.

The Globe Inn - established 1610. Burns himself called this his Favourite Howff. Some Real Ales, a good Malt selection, it still has Burns' bedroom upstairs and the chair the Bard used whilst at the Globe. Awarded by CAMRA as Britain’s Most Important Literary Pub. This is an excellent place to end our tour of Dumfries Historical pubs.

Burns Supper Weekend Caerlaverock Castle
Caerlaverock Castle is a brilliant 13th Century Castle… sieged by Edward Longshanks, it has a great and important history. This ruin is in excellent condition and is very picturesque. It looks particularly stunning with a bunch of men in kilts invading it.
