Ferintosh is the perfect base to ride the 7stanes; Scotland's fantastic award winning mountain biking tracks. We are only 5 minutes from Mabie Forest, 20 minutes from Ae Forest and Dalbeattie, and all seven of the trails are less than an hour and a half away.

Ferintosh is also on the Cycle Route between Land's End and John O' Groats. We are quite used to hosting cyclists taking this famous cycle ride.

The Ferintosh offers the following facilities for our hiking / biking guests:

A drying room for overnight drying of your wet clothing… and/or Emma will help you launder your clothes if needed. Our laundry facility is in the house
A fenced rear garden and lockable covered shed for your mountain bikes
A washing up area with a hosepipe for your MTB
Packed lunch or filled flask if requested
Early 7:00 AM breakfast if requested
Walking and Cycling literature and books for our guests use, including trail maps for all seven of the 7stanes.
Hot drinks are always available in the rooms - tea, coffee, decaf tea, herbal tea, decaf coffee, hot chocolate … and, of course, sipping a dram of our complimentary malt whisky is always a good way to warm your insides after a brisk walk or ride.
We also provide the location of the local cycle and walking / hiking shops, should a guest need to repair a tyre or buy some new kit!
Emma is a Registered Nurse with over 20 years experience- she is happy to help/advise you with any cuts or scrapes you get while walking or cycling.

Dumfries & Galloway has some of the best walks in Britain and The Ferintosh Guest House is an excellent central location for walkers.
